Bradly Wiggins - Ruled out of the tour de France



Sir Bradley Wiggins has been ruled out of defending his tour de France title because illness and injury have left him insufficient time to train for it. Sir Wiggins had just finished the the Italian tour and sustained a knee injury. It is believed his chest infection ha snow subsided, but the knee injury has left him insufficient time to train. "I really wanted to be there for all the team and the fans.".

MP Patrick Mercer resigned over Panorama allegations

The MP Patrick Mercer resigned over Panorama allegations of braking parliamentary lobbying rules. It's is alleged that he accepted £4,000 to lobby for business interests in Fiji. Mr Mercer stated that he was taking legal advice an that he had been referred to Parliament's standards commissioner. The Newark MP said he took the money for consultancy work outside parliament. He added he would not be standing at the next general election.

Rio De Janerio - Match Postponed

The sell out match in Brazil has been postponed due to concerns over building safety. The so called 'Cathedral of football' is completed on the inside, and builders are applying finishing touches. England fans are annoyed that the postponing of the match may mean they have to go home and miss it. One fan said: "We've been following them for eight years now, and never seen anything this bad.". Weather or not the match will go ahead, is in dispute, but many are more concerned about the violent neighborhood in Rio De Janeiro. The local government assures that the gangs have been pacified, but some experts doubt that, and fear that the match may be used as a standoff between rival gangs.
